Design and art worlds continue to embrace black and white, with colour remaining important for the AW21 season. Feelings for nostalgia, retro, the future and tech continue in what still feels like uncertain times, adopting a hopeful forward-looking mentality to embrace positivity and colour is the perfect vehicle to express this attitude.
A welcome return for the consumer’s favourite, blue, that has been less dominant in recent seasons. Pantone, decided on Classic Blue 19-4052 as their colour of the year for 2020.
Pink and red tones continue to be a must for the season, and the influence of red is growing in strength. This winter, true reds take over the pink element we have been seeing over recent seasons.
Naturals are less green and pink based, rather more orange and yellow hued. Reflecting the coolness of neutrality, they are versatile and wearable.
Greens move on from an obvious natural grounding, into more mysterious versions that have both ethereal and futuristic influences.
